On Monday May 30, 2016, Gault & Millau announced the launch of its first gastronomic guide in Quebec. Among more than 200 establishments evaluated by perfectly anonymous tasters, this guide ranked 160 of the best restaurants in Montreal. For this first edition, Toqué! won 4 toques, a score of 17/20. Chef Normand Laprise, for his part, won the title of "Chef of the Year 2016".
